Motorcycle Ignition Unit Functions
Product Overview
The motorcycle ignition unit (CDI / Ignition Module) is one of the key components of the engine ignition system.
Its main function is to control ignition timing and generate high-voltage energy, ensuring efficient and stable engine performance under various speed conditions.
AC ignition (AC CDI)
Powered directly by the magneto’s AC output, this CDI works independently of the battery. It’s ideal for carburetor-type motorcycles.
DC ignition (DC CDI)
Powered by the battery (DC 12V), this CDI provides stable ignition and smoother starting. Widely used in EFI and modern motorcycles.
Digital CDI
The Digital CDI uses a microprocessor to precisely control ignition timing and adjust the ignition curve dynamically based on engine conditions, improving fuel efficiency and engine acceleration performance.
